A few Tyler ISD campuses and departments will be under new leadership for the 2026-2027 school year.

2026 - 2027 Leadership Announcements
Dr. Stephanie Cook, Chief of Student Support
Dr. Cook joins Tyler ISD from Frisco ISD, where she served as Managing Director of Guidance and Counseling since 2017. Her experience also includes roles as Director of Guidance, Counseling, and College Readiness in Irving ISD; District Lead Counselor in Grapevine-Colleyville ISD; Behavioral Specialist in Birdville ISD; and a special education teacher in Arlington ISD.

2026 - 2027 Principal Announcements
Tina Graham, Bell Elementary School
Graham steps into her new role at Bell Elementary following two years as assistant principal at Woods Elementary, where she also served as dean of students.

Steven Ladd, Bonner Elementary School
Ladd joins Bonner Elementary after eight years leading Griffin Elementary as principal. Earlier in his career, he served as assistant principal at Boulter Middle School and Orr Elementary.

Elizabeth Gomez, Douglas Elementary School
Gomez brings three years of experience as principal of Bonner Elementary. She previously served as assistant principal at Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School.

Dr. Mayanin Smart, Griffin Elementary School
Dr. Smart joins Tyler ISD from Chapel Hill ISD, where she served as Bilingual/ESL Director. She also brings prior experience as an assistant principal and campus dean of students at Griffin Elementary.

Tamara Johnson, Orr Elementary School
Johnson brings seven years of leadership as principal of Bell Elementary. Her experience also includes serving as assistant principal at Bell, Peete Elementary, and Caldwell Arts Academy.
