8th graders from across the district have enjoyed CTE 8th Grade Exploration days where they get to learn about the Tyler ISD CTE Programs of Study and visit with high school students from each program.

Tyler ISD Health Science juniors participated in the CHRISTUS Rise Up Conference today for an inside look at working in healthcare.

The Tyler ISD and Career & Technology Center Culinary Arts students had the opportunity to meet world renowned chef and author, Alex Guarnaschelli at UT Tyler at an event highlighting the award-winning chef. Students prepared some of Chef Guarnaschelli's recipes which were served at the event. Career & Technology's Culinary Arts instructor, Chef Strother, and Culinary Assistant, Ms. Flores, facilitated the student work, which was a complete success.

60 Tyler ISD students attended Discovery Day at Texas State Technical College in Waco. It was a great day to explore post secondary option in high wage career paths.








Tyler ISD and The Career & Technology Center's Health Science students and teachers showed their support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month by wearing pink, studying about misconceptions versus facts about cancer, discussing some of the stories of their experience with cancer in their families or with friends, and designed a support wall of inspirational quotes of support.


Tyler ISD's Career and Technology Cosmetology Dual Credit students visited Trinity Valley Community College in Athens today to celebrate their dual credit status and experience the TVCC campus. Students witnessed the National Champion Cheer Squad perform, as well. It was a successful and insightful trip!

You are cordially invited to join the 2024-2025 National Technical Honor Society β Chapter 3893 informational meeting. The meeting will be held at the Career & Technology Center at 5 PM on Tuesday, September 24th, 2024. Requirements to join are to have and maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA, enrolled in a CTE class in Tyler ISD, participate in at least 5 hours of community service activities during the school year, and maintain good standing with the school district, (i.e., no suspensions or DAEP placements, etc.). Applications will be available at the meeting and afterwards for those who cannot attend. Dues are $65 for a lifetime membership and can be paid through the SCHOOLPAY system using a credit or debit card.

You/Your student can join the national student organization Technology Student Association.
Participation in the organization is voluntary. TSA is a student led organization with leadership & technology as the central focus. This organization is one that will be offered out of classroom time. It encourages the student to develop leadership skills in various areas that will benefit them throughout their school career. TSA offers competitive events in over 200 different projects.
We will be having meetings on the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays, after school. We will also have days for community service projects around the community and fund raisers to support participation in various levels of competitions.
