White Cane Safety Day

October 15th is National White Cane Safety Day. This special designated day is meant to bring community awareness to the the white cane and its impact on helping  individuals with visual impairment move about safely throughout our community.

This year, Caldwell Stars Addison Trice helped educate her classmates on her new white cane and why it is so important to her. Addison created a detailed slide show and flier to help provide facts for her peers and information they could share with others.

During the question and answer part, she enthusiastically discussed how the white cane works, how long it took to order, the proper length of the cane for her, and how it has helped her navigate some tricky situations.

Caldwell is proud to support Addison and her efforts to educate others on something that means so much to her! Go Addison!
