Tyler ISD launches CrisisGo's Safe2SpeakUP app. The only mobile emergency response system to provide a student-safe app for students to quickly and comfortably communicate with safety teams, counselors, or others based on the report type.

"The Safe2SpeakUP app associated with CrisisGo allows our students an anonymous way to report feelings of self-harm, bullying of themselves or their friends, or any incident that makes them feel uncomfortable or unsafe," Coordinator of Guidance and Counseling Lauri Anderson said.

Using Safe2SpeakUP, students can report bully-related activity for themselves or their friends, submit safety tips about school incidents, and access safety resources during an emergency. The district can also allow student messaging within groups or with their school's safety team in charge of bullying. The school can also turn on additional features, such as a panic button. All activities are recorded for reporting purposes, and anonymity is ALWAYS preserved when selected.

"Our goal is for all students to feel safe on their campuses, feel free to communicate their needs, and trust that their voices are heard," added Ms. Anderson. "I want to help empower our youth to advocate for themselves and others. I am proud and honored to be part of a school district supporting this initiative."

The Safe2SpeakUP link has been available on our district and campus websites since the beginning of the school year. Safe2SpeakUP replaces the district's old system, which was called the No Bully Zone.
