Coach Phillip Callier from Tyler High School

Coach Phillip Callier from Tyler High School has been selected to be part of the 2022 R.O.C.K. Mentoring Program. The program results from a partnership formed between the Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation and Texas A&M Thornton-McFerrin Coaching Academy. It was created to address and meet the needs of high school teacher coaches to retain top talent in this ever-evolving environment.

"A colleague nominated Coach Callier because he has proven to be an outstanding coach," C.O.O. Texas High School Coaches Education Foundation Libby Pacheco said. "The program's namesake was founded on the words RARE, OUTSTANDING, COMPELLED, and KNOWLEDGEABLE – all traits that Coach Callier portrays."

The R.O.C.K. Mentoring Program has been developed by and for coaches to cultivate leadership, foster work alignment, execute best practices, combat apathy, enhance time management, and address work-life balance issues.

"Coach Callier is a rising young coach that has a high potential for success in coaching at any level," Tyler High Athletic Coordinator and Head Football Coach Ricklan Holmes said. "His passion for kids and their development is second to none. I am super proud to have him on my staff, and he's a great pleasure to work with."

The program's framework is designed to be motivating while providing support, growth opportunities, and confidence. Most importantly, its design empowers coaches to instill character, integrity, and life lessons into athletic performance.

"Thank you so much. I'm extremely grateful to have been selected for the R.O.C.K. Mentoring Program," Tyler High School Coach and Teacher Phillip Callier said. "Just being able to have that opportunity to meet prestigious coaches, network, and learn more about the game will be tremendous. I can't wait to get started."

The 2nd annual R.O.C.K Coaches Mentoring Workshop will be presented at AT&T Stadium on March 20th - 21st, 2022.
