National Merit Scholarship Program

Tyler Legacy High School seniors Lauren McClintock and Caroline Richbourg have been named Commended Students by the National Merit Scholarship Program.

Each year, more than two-thirds (about 34,000) of the approximately 50,000 high scorers on the PSAT/NMSQT receive Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise. The qualifying score for this level of recognition varies from year to year. All National Merit Program participants who score at or above the Commended level, but below Semifinalist qualifying level, are designated Commended Students. Although Commended Students do not continue in the competition for National Merit Scholarships, some of these students do become candidates for Special Scholarships sponsored by corporations and businesses.

Congratulations Lauren and Caroline!
