The Records Management Office serves the district by tracking all Tyler ISD records (administrative & campuses records) from their creation to their disposal. While maintaining Tyler ISD records, the staff researches the information and retrieves records for departments, schools, and the public as needed. Tyler ISD has adopted retention schedules provided for compliance by the Texas Library and Archives Commission, see Record Retention.
The Records Management Office handles all Public Information Requests, Student Records requests, Transcript Requests, as well as subpoenas and depositions by written questions (Court Orders, Subpoenas & DWQ's). Yolonda Moore, Records Management/Public Information Officer, is designated as Custodian of Records for all district and student records.
Records Request Notice Please note that you must have some form of ID to obtain student records/transcripts. Both federal and state laws safeguard student records from unauthorized inspection or use and provide parents and eligible students certain rights of privacy. Before disclosing any personally identifiable information from a student’s records, the district must verify the identity of the person, including a parent or the student, requesting the information. In compliance with the Family Education Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), Tyler ISD will not generally permit access to, or release of, educational records or personally identifiable information contained therein to any party without the written consent of a parent or legal guardian (for students under the age of 18) or the student/alumni (over the age of 18). There are no exceptions to this policy, you must be able to provide proof of identity and be a qualified requestor.
