The Wayne D. Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs was honored to be selected by the Tyler ISD Foundation to create a 2D visual art piece for auction at the Foundationβs signature annual event, Cirque du Soiree.

Students chosen for the project were selected for their passion for visual art, with each contributing a unique element to the collaborative canvas. The vibrant circus-themed artwork, titled See You at the Circus!, features a red circus tent painted by one of the students at the Boshears Center, a bold blue background painted by a creative classmate, and detailed depictions of circus animals and performers created by several talented Boshears students. Many students also worked together to paint colorful balloons and their swirling tails, adding joyful motion and texture to the piece.

The project was guided and supported by Boshears teachers Melissa Dene, Anita Lewis, Sarah Kolac, Erika Johnson, and Savannah Miller, who helped bring the collaborative vision to life.
Fine Arts Teacher Melissa Dene shared her appreciation for the opportunity:
βThis was the least we could do in honor of the great work Tyler ISD Foundation does for the district, and specifically Boshears. We have been recipients of their generosity through Grants for Great Ideas in the past. We hope to continue the tradition of increasing innovation and inspiration to our educational processes with the help of the Foundation in the future.β

The See You at the Circus! painting stands as a colorful symbol of creativity, teamwork, and gratitudeβreflecting both the artistry of Boshears students and the ongoing partnership between the school and the Tyler ISD Foundation.
