The Tyler ISD Foundation recently held the inaugural Spark Tank Pilot program. THS's own Mr. Pablo was awarded a grant! Great job grabbing opportunity by the MANE!
Here is what Mr. Pable said about the experience, "The journey felt very much like a βShark Tankβ experience. It began with intensive writing to qualify as a finalist, followed by sleepless nights refining my manuscript and proposal. Out of many teacher-applicants, only a few advanced to the final stage.
In the last round, I pitched my proposed project before a panel of nearly 20 judges in a closed-door session. It truly felt like going through the eye of a needle. I had five minutes to present and three minutes for questions and answers. It was nerve-racking, but by Godβs grace, I was able to deliver. Shortly after, the results were announced, and I was grateful to learn that my project was approved and selected for funding.
The project is titled βThe Bio Meta Station.β It is a classroom learning station model designed to enhance student engagement and achievement at Tyler High School. As a fun fact, I formally conducted research on this model last year, which was approved by Tyler ISD and later published internationally.
I am deeply grateful for this opportunity, as it will allow us to provide new and meaningful learning materials for our students."
