Congratulations to our District Secondary Teacher of Month, Sharmecia Jackson, CTE teacher at Tyler High School.

Ms. Jackson is recognized for her outstanding dedication, leadership, and impact on students. Jackson serves as the advisor for the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) chapter, consistently representing Tyler ISD with professionalism while fostering student growth and achievement.

Under her guidance, FBLA participation has grown steadily over the past three years, reaching a record 41 members in 2025–2026. Her leadership has helped the chapter earn prestigious recognition, including a Proclamation and the β€œKeys to the City” from Tyler Mayor Donald P. Warren. At the FBLA National Leadership Conference in Anaheim, California, Tyler High School’s chapter was named a Silver Champion Chapter for 2024–2025, with the official banner sent from Texas FBLA State Officer Coordinator Donna Crook.

Jackson’s students have also excelled locally. At the FBLA Area 6 Leadership Conference in December 2025, Tyler High competitors brought home 23 wins out of 23 entries, demonstrating the chapter’s skill and dedication. Looking ahead, her students are preparing to showcase their talents at the FBLA State Leadership Conference in March 2026 at the Kalahari Resort in Round Rock, Texas.
