The Tyler ISD Foundation welcomed Tyler ISDβs newest educators Wednesday, July 29, during the fourth annual New Teacher Welcome Luncheon at Tyler High School.
Centered around the theme βA New Chapter Begins,β the annual luncheon celebrated the beginning of each educatorβs journey with Tyler ISD and demonstrated the communityβs commitment to supporting teachers from their first day in the district.

βIt has become one of our favorite traditions and gives us an opportunity to ensure Tyler ISDβs newest educators feel celebrated, appreciated and supported from their very first day,β Tyler ISD Foundation Executive Director Suzette Farr said.
The luncheon was established as a way for the Tyler ISD Foundation to partner with Tyler ISD in welcoming new teachers while supporting the districtβs recruitment and retention efforts.

During the event, the Foundation distributed nearly $10,000 through its Classroom Kickstart initiative and provided a few lucky first-year teachers with $500 gift cards to purchase classroom supplies and create welcoming learning environments for their students.
The luncheon also featured door prizes donated by local businesses, organizations, and community members to celebrate the districtβs newest educators and help them begin the 2026-27 school year feeling valued and supported.
βWe are incredibly grateful to everyone who helped make this yearβs luncheon meaningful for our newest educators,β said Jill Johnson, member of the Tyler ISD Foundation Board of Directors. βTheir generosity sends a powerful message that Tyler stands behind its teachers and wants them to succeed.β
The New Teacher Welcome Luncheon reflects the Tyler ISD Foundationβs mission to provide resources that inspire learning, enrich teaching and enhance opportunities for Tyler ISD students through exemplary programs.
