From September 15 to October 15, Tyler ISD joins the nation in celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month, a time to recognize the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities. This month-long observance highlights the rich traditions and lasting impact of Hispanic heritage, not only in the United States but also across the world.
Throughout the district, campuses will host engaging events, lessons, and activities that showcase the diverse backgrounds of students and families. These experiences provide students the opportunity to learn more about the influence of Hispanic and Latino leaders, who have shaped society in meaningful ways.
Hispanic Heritage Month is also a time for families and communities to celebrate traditions that have been passed down through generations. From food and music to dance and storytelling, these cultural practices strengthen identity, foster pride, and connect students to their roots while sharing them with others.
