Peete Elementary School is proud to announce the selection of Coach Caleb Hensley as the recipient of the Teacher of the Year award for the 2023-2024 academic year. With his dedication to education and commitment to student success, Coach Hensley exemplifies the qualities of an outstanding educator.
Caleb Hensley brings a wealth of experience and passion to his role as an educator. Having attended Texarkana Junior College and Texas College in Tyler, where he earned his associate and Bachelor's degrees in Interdisciplinary Studies, Hensley's academic journey laid the foundation for his impactful career. With nine years in the field of education, he has taught a range of subjects from EC-12 Physical Education to coaching athletics at both the Junior High and High School levels.
Beyond the classroom, Coach Hensley is a devoted family man who enjoys spending quality time with his son, Jaiden. Fishing outings and filming fishing videos for his YouTube channel, 903 Fishing, are among his favorite pastimes. He also finds joy in cheering on his son during little league basketball games on Saturdays.
Reflecting on his own educational experience, Hensley credits influential teachers and coaches for inspiring his career path. He strives to emulate their positive impact by instilling similar values and philosophies in his own teaching approach. As the leader of the "Boys To Men" mentoring group on campus, he is dedicated to guiding young men toward successful adulthood.
Looking to the future, Mr. Hensley aspires to become an assistant elementary principal within the Tyler Independent School District. With his background in athletics and a strong sense of teamwork, he is confident in his ability to lead Peete Elementary students towards continued success.
