Congratulations to Christina Brown, a 2nd grade student at Peete Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month for January.

Christina is the best model of a Leader in Me student who is very responsible. She is always present in school and never misses a school day. She shows a positive attitude toward school and follows routines and procedures independently.

She loves learning and performing her class jobs and all her tasks in workstations. She doesn't easily give up. She makes sure that she is engaged and willing to stay on task to sharpen her skills. She is not only working toward her goal in learning but is also happy to help her classmates by teaching them. She is really a little teacher in her classroom. She initiates play with her classmates and welcomes everyone.

Her cheerful attitude is evident when she comes in the morning and greets her teachers and peers and she loves being the morning greeter in the hallway. She is always celebrating the accomplishments of her classmates, cheering for them when they are able to answer a question or perform a task. Christina embodies the characteristics of a model student and true leader.

The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
