✨ And last, but certainly not least…we concluded this Monday at the monthly Tyler ISD School Board Meeting by celebrating our District's Elementary Teacher of the Month – Mrs. Maria Anza Goni! πŸŽ‰ Mrs. Anza Goni is a visiting teacher from Spain who, in just two years, has reached the highest level of mastery in the Top Teacher program. Today’s Match/Mismatch of the Day goes out to Wednesday and Enid, aka Mrs Cortez and Ms. Bustamante. πŸ–€πŸŒΈ One walks in with dark, gloomy vibes and a stare that could curdle milk… the other bounces in like a human glitter bomb. Together, they’re living proof that opposites don’t just attractβ€”they get stuck sharing a classroom wall. πŸ˜… Are you more of a Wednesday πŸ–€ or an Enid 🌈 today? πŸ‘‰ Don’t forgetβ€”tomorrow’s theme is Bright Colors! ✨

πŸ“šβœ¨ In Mrs. Cortez’s AVID class, students are stepping up as leaders of their own learning! βœ¨πŸ“š

This week, they created a Student Agreement to keep and track their progress in their AVID notebooks. By building this habit, our scholars are learning responsibility, organization, and how to take charge of their own success. πŸ’ͺ✏️

We are so proud of their commitment to building habits that will prepare them for the future! 🌟 #AVID #StudentLeaders #OrrElementary #TYLERISD

πŸ“šπŸ¦ Orr Elementary had some special visitors on Friday! The Tyler High Lion football players came to read to our students ahead of their big game.

Even though the Lions didn’t take home the victory on the field, they reminded us all that true champions shine in the classroom. 🌟 Our students loved getting to learn, laugh, and read alongside these role models.

Thank you, Tyler High Lions, for inspiring our future leaders both on and off the field! πŸ’™πŸˆπŸ“–

πŸ“šβœ¨ Small groups = BIG learning at Orr Elementary! βœ¨πŸ“š

Mrs. Mills-Torena is rocking the Raise the Ratio strategy by working with students in small groups. πŸŽ‰ This gives every student more chances to participate, share their thinking, and shine ✨.

The smiles and β€œlightbulb moments” happening at her small group table prove that when the ratio goes up, so does the learning! πŸ’‘πŸ™Œ #RaiseTheRatio #OrrElementary #StudentSuccess

πŸš€πŸŸ Our GT students set sail on a crunchy challenge this week β€” the Ship a Chip project! Their mission: design the ultimate package to safely send a single Pringles chip all the way to our friends at Ramey Elementary. πŸ«βœ‰οΈ

With creativity, problem-solving, and maybe a few giggles, our students engineered containers to protect the delicate chip on its journey. The big question is… will the chip arrive in ONE piece or turn into chip dust? πŸ€”

We can’t wait to see the results β€” stay tuned for the grand β€œunboxing” at Ramey! πŸ‘€πŸ™Œ

βœ¨πŸ”’ Math is better together! πŸ”’βœ¨

In Mr. Tenorio’s 2nd-grade class, our mathematicians worked in groups to tackle Math TEK 2.2Bβ€”building number sense and exploring place value. Students collaborated, shared strategies, and showed off their problem-solving skills. πŸ’‘πŸ€

We love seeing our Cubs encourage one another and grow as math thinkers. Way to go, 2nd gradersβ€”you’re proving that math is not only fun but also a team effort! πŸΎπŸ“šβœοΈ

Students stood in a circle, holding hands to complete a circuit, and watched electricity flow when everyone was connected. 🀝✨ They also explored which materials allowed electricity to pass through and which ones didn’t.
