As Head Drum Major, he will lead one of the most respected marching bands in the nation, inspiring audiences and motivating fellow students to give their very best.

A true Tyler ISD success story, Markell began his educational journey at Douglas Elementary, continued through Moore Middle School, and graduated proudly from Tyler High School. His path highlights how hard work, determination, and strong family support can lead to extraordinary achievements.

Markell comes from a proud Tyler ISD family. He is the son of Eric and Shastee Giddens, both Tyler ISD alumni. His mother currently serves as a district employee, and his younger sister continues the legacy as a student at Early College High School.

Congratulations, Markell! Your Tyler ISD family is cheering you on as you lead the Marching Storm with pride.
