Tyler Legacy students at the Texas Bank and Trust induction ceremony

Tyler Legacy High School is proud to announce that 25 of its seniors have been selected to join the Texas Bank and Trust (TB&T) Student Board of Directors for the 2025–2026 school year. This year, TB&T welcomes 177 outstanding students from 13 East Texas high schools to participate in its long-standing financial literacy initiative.

Founded in 1978, the Student Board of Directors program introduces high school seniors to essential financial concepts including budgeting, lending, saving, and investing. Through monthly educational meetings and a competitive stock market simulation, students gain hands-on experience in money management and economic decision-making.

In addition to learning practical financial skills, board members serve in an advisory role, offering insights to the bank on youth financial literacy programming. The curriculum is updated biennially to ensure relevance in today’s economic landscape.

Tyler Legacy senior Abigail Liedteke shared her excitement:β€œI'm excited to learn more about finances so that I'm prepared to make my college decision and I'm not financially irresponsible in my choice.”

Participation in the program is a prestigious honor, recognizing students for their academic excellence and extracurricular involvement. Over the years, more than 3,100 students have benefited from this impactful experience. Tyler Legacy’s selected students are set to represent their school with pride and gain valuable knowledge that will serve them well into adulthood.
