Teacher Incentive Allotment Program

Tyler ISD’s Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) program has reached a major milestone, continuing to expand opportunities for educators and recognizing high levels of classroom impact.

Through approval from the Texas Education Agency, 180 Tyler ISD teachers earned a new or higher designation this year, bringing the total to more than 340 designated teachers. This means more than one in four Tyler ISD educators now qualify for state performance-based stipends.

Tyler ISD has steadily grown its TIA system each year, with 50% of district teachers now eligible to earn a designation. Even more educators will become eligible with the start of the 2026–27 school year.

The district has been working since 2020 to secure this additional funding pathway for teachers. The state-funded stipend program is designed to increase teacher compensation, attract and retain highly effective educators, and incentivize teaching at high-needs campuses.

β€œRecognizing and rewarding great teaching is essential to student success,” said Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford. β€œThis milestone reflects the outstanding work happening in classrooms across Tyler ISD. We are proud to expand opportunities for our educators and remain committed to ensuring more teachers benefit from this program in the years ahead.”

To receive a designation, teachers must be identified as top performing through a rigorous data validation process conducted by Texas Tech and TEA. There are three designation levels: Recognized, Exemplary, and Master. Stipend amounts, released annually by TEA, vary based on designation level.

Tyler ISD’s TIA program will continue to celebrate, recognize, and reward highly effective educators across the district for years to come.
