Bonjour! Do you have a reservation? Ms. Harper's 7th Grade classes just experienced a five-star dining event, but instead of forks and knives, they came prepared with open minds and eager eyes!

Hubbard’s media center transformed into the swanky French eatery, "Café La Page Tourneur" (must be said with your best French accent!), for a magnificent Book Tasting. Welcomed by Maître d' Mr. Pino and Garçon Mr. Durham, students were escorted to their tables for a gourmet tour of literature.

The menu was dazzling! Students sampled "appetizers" from different genres—a bite of Fantasy, a relish of Realistic Fiction, a morsel of Mystery, and a sip of Science Fiction. Each "course" lasted just a few minutes, giving them enough time to make inferences from the book jacket, read the first few pages, and get a feel for the story's flavor.

The goal? To find a book that truly tickled their reading palate. At the end of the tasting, students didn't pay the check; they placed a "reservation" on the book they were most excited to devour. This ensures they get to check out and finish the title that captured their interest!

And because no fancy dining experience is complete without a sweet finish, every student received an "After-Dinner Mint"—a little treat to top off their inspiring literary adventure!
