Texas A&M Campus Visit Sparks Excitement Among 8th Grade AVID Students

Sixty-two 8th-grade AVID students recently experienced a transformative visit to Texas A&M University, where they were immersed in the university's rich traditions, inspiring academic programs, and vibrant campus culture.

 

Throughout the visit, students engaged in a comprehensive exploration of Texas A&M's unique offerings, including its renowned nursing program, expanding hospitality and performing arts facilities, and the iconic 12th Man statue. The students were particularly captivated by the emphasis on fostering a welcoming and inclusive campus community, where the phrase "howdy" serves as a warm greeting and a symbol of the university's collaborative spirit.

The visit also provided students with opportunities to learn about the university's commitment to growth and innovation, exemplified by the development of a new medical building and the expansion of its hospitality and performing arts areas. These initiatives underscore the university's dedication to providing students with cutting-edge facilities and resources to support their academic pursuits and extracurricular endeavors.
