Douglas Celebrates Black History images of Fourth Grade students posing for pictures in the library during their black history project presentations

On February 26th, fourth-grade students at Douglas Elementary brought history to life during the school’s Black History Living Museum. Volunteers spent the past month researching influential Black historical figures and creating detailed trifold posters to showcase their work. During the event, students from across the school visited the museum to learn about these important individuals. With the press of a button, each fourth grader β€œcame to life” as their chosen figure, sharing facts and stories about the person they represented.


El 26 de febrero, los estudiantes de cuarto grado de la Primaria Douglas dieron vida a la historia durante el Museo Viviente de la Historia Afroamericana de la escuela. Los voluntarios pasaron el ΓΊltimo mes investigando a figuras histΓ³ricas afroamericanas influyentes y creando carteles trΓ­pticos detallados para presentar su trabajo. Durante el evento, estudiantes de toda la escuela visitaron el museo para aprender sobre estas importantes personas. Con solo presionar un botΓ³n, cada estudiante de cuarto grado β€œcobraba vida” como la figura que habΓ­a elegido, compartiendo datos e historias sobre la persona que representaba.
