This week, the spirit of teamwork and determination radiated brightly as Rose City Warriors, a group of 14 incredible athletes from across Tyler ISD, competed at the Special Olympics Area Bowling Tournament held at Green Acres Bowl. Representing Dixie Elementary School, Three Lakes, Moore, and Boulter middle schools, Tyler Legacy High School, 18+ LINK, and 18+ CONNECT, the Rose City Warriors delivered a stellar performance, championing victory across the board.

Every student athlete earned a medal, proudly placing in the top three of their heatβan inspiring testament to their hard work, skill, and perseverance. This remarkable achievement highlights the strength and dedication of the Special Olympics team as they continue to excel in sports and life.

Special Olympics is a global movement committed to empowering children and adults with intellectual disabilities through year-round sports training and competition. By participating in sports such as Bocce Ball, Bowling, Basketball, Track & Field, and Swimming, these athletes not only develop physical fitness but also demonstrate courage, build friendships, and experience joy.

βSeeing our athletes step onto the lanes with determination and leave with smiles and medals is something truly special,β said Abby Dominy, Tyler ISD Tyler ISD Transition Coordinator. βTheir hard work is what shines through β the bowling is just the bonus.β
Our Tyler ISD Rose City Warriors embody the spirit of Special Olympics, embracing every opportunity to showcase their talents and connect with families, fellow athletes, and the community. We celebrate their success and thank our community for the ongoing support that helps these incredible athletes shine both on and off the field.
