Students and staff gathered in the Dixie Cafeteria to kick off the first Semi-Annual P.O.P. Bowl for our 3-5 students. Students competed against their classmates to win the coveted Popcorn Trophy. Creator of the event, Amelia Chavez - Dixie Elementary Master Teacher, had this to say about the event:

"Our 3-5th grade students have been working really diligently this year on their grammar rules. This is no easy task! All of the classes -- whether bilingual or monolingual have been using a book called Patterns of Power to help guide their learning of things like commas, spelling patterns, capitalization, etc. I thought it would be fun to have a competition for our Dragons to show what they had been learning! Of course, I had to call it the POP bowl since it matched the book (Patterns of Power). And who doesn't love a popcorn themed party? We are SO proud of ALL of our Dixie students for their hard work and dedication to learning grammar. We had a BLAST at the competition and can't wait to do it again in the spring semester! "

What a fun time had by all!
