students using survey equipment

Great weather and great planning has the Tyler ISD Career & Technology Center humming with student engagement today!

First, Mr. Beaulieu trained our Practicum of Construction students how to navigate the terrain using a tripod in conjunction with an upcoming new storage facility being built by Mr. Beaulieu and his students.

Continuing outside, 1st year teacher, Mrs. Moon, broke the mold by creating a peer-to-peer vital signs review outdoors for our Practicum of Health Science/ Medical Assistant program. Natural light triggers the release of serotonin and reduces stress-related cortisol. This helps students concentrate longer, retain information better, and experience less distractedness.

Then, our JROTC teachers, Mr. Cato and Mr. Tinker, continued their preparation with our cadets practicing for upcoming parades, teaching company commanders and guidons the proper placement in formations, and how to lead formations while Company First Sergeants call cadence. Left! Left! Left, Right, Left!

Finally, Mrs. Neal guided her students in the art of barrel curls on mannequins. Great work!
