food bank

Our wonderful CTC teachers, Mrs. Billington and Mrs. Boyd joined the DECA club, CTC Business classes and CTC Accounting 2 students to the East Texas Food Bank today. Students volunteered 6 hours today in service to the community.  We filled over 350 boxes of food for senior citizens and over 2000 lbs. of beans in bags for families in the 26 counties our food bank serves.  We are so thankful for the opportunity to serve in this capacity to help East Texas!

  3. Building Empathy: It allows volunteers to develop empathy and understanding of the struggles faced by those experiencing food insecurity.

  4. Promoting Social Responsibility: Volunteering instills a sense of social responsibility and encourages individuals to give back to their community.

  5. Creating Connections: It provides an opportunity to connect with people from diverse backgrounds and work together towards a common goal.

  6. Personal Growth: Volunteering can lead to personal growth, increased self-esteem, and a sense of accomplishment by making a positive impact.

  7. Educational Experience: It can also serve as an educational experience, raising awareness about food waste, poverty, and the importance of community support.
