Kids holding up makerspace creatures made of paper

CLARKSTON MEDIA CENTER β€” Creativity came to life today as students from Mrs. Scott’s class visited the Clarkston library for a hands-on learning experience in the makerspace.

The eager students transformed into young engineers as they designed and crafted their very own 3-D animals. Utilizing a variety of makerspace materialsβ€”including only paper and recycled itemsβ€”the children brought creatures from their imaginations into reality. From bouncing spiders to colorful cats and big-eyed pumpkins, the library was filled with unique, three-dimensional fun.

The activity focused on developing critical thinking, spatial awareness, and fine motor skills. Library staff noted that the collaboration and problem-solving displayed by Mrs. Scott's students made the session a massive success.

"Seeing the kids so engaged and proud of their physical creations is exactly what this makerspace is for," said Mrs. Amber Simcox, Media Technology Specialist.

Students at Clarkston will be making many more makerspace crafts.
