First Graders in Mrs. Fuller's Class stop for a smile!

The Clarkston Cougar First Graders had a fabulous time at the East Texas Fair Rodeo! The crisp morning air filled with excitement as students arrived at the fairgrounds, eager for a day of unique learning and unforgettable western entertainment. For many children, this was their very first live rodeo experience, making the outing truly special.

Throughout the event, the young Cougars cheered enthusiastically as skilled cowboys and cowgirls showcased impressive horsemanship, barrel racing, and roping techniques. The stadium erupted with giggles and applause during the hilarious clown comedy segments, which quickly became a crowd favorite among the children. Between the thrilling arena events, teachers transformed the experience into an educational opportunity, pointing out animal traits and discussing the rich history of Texas agricultural traditions.

The field trip perfectly combined community culture with real-world learning outside the traditional classroom. Walking back to the school buses, the students could not stop talking about their favorite horses and the funny rodeo clowns. Clarkston Elementary extended a warm thank you to the organizers and parent volunteers who made this safe, wonderful adventure possible. It was definitely a memorable day that these young Cougars will cherish for a very long time!
