On Friday, we had the opportunity to participate in an exciting and inspiring Career Day. Our campus was buzzing with energy as professionals from all walks of life came to share their experiences and passion for their careers. We welcomed police officers, animal control officers, firefighters, electricians, welders, ASL interpreters, cosmetologists, lawyers, bankers, and even a talk show host. We also enjoyed visits from Chick-fil-A representatives, culinary students, and health science students, who gave us a glimpse into their hands-on work.
One of the highlights of the day was getting to climb into the fire trucks and police carsβsirens, lights, and all! We got to see what itβs like behind the scenes and ask questions about how those vehicles help keep our community safe. We were even able to pet a real baby possum, thanks to our new friends from animal control, who taught us about caring for wildlife.
It was an unforgettable day filled with learning and curiosity. We were able to ask questions, see tools and equipment up close, and imagine ourselves in roles we may have never considered before. Having access to such a wide range of careers helped us connect what we learn in school to real-world opportunities.
Career Day also taught us the value of hard work, communication, and following our passions. We left feeling inspired, empowered, and excited about our future. Events like this are important because they help us dream big and realize that there are so many paths we can take.
We want to give a huge thank you to our master teacher, Mrs. Beasley, and our counselor, Dr. Warren, for organizing such an incredible event. Because of their hard work and dedication, we had a morning full of fun, learning, and inspiration that weβll never forget.
