Last week, Clarkston hosted a Living History Museum to celebrate Black History Month. Students worked hard to complete their projects with speaking parts about their assigned historical figure.

Learning about influential historical figures during Black History Month is crucial for illuminating the contributions and struggles of African Americans throughout history. These figures serve as role models, inspiring students to embrace diversity, pursue excellence, and challenge injustice.

By studying the achievements of individuals like Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, and Harriet Tubman, students gain a deeper understanding of American history and the ongoing fight for equality.

Moreover, learning about influential black figures fosters empathy, cultural awareness, and appreciation for the diversity that shapes our nation. It empowers students to recognize and confront social injustices and work towards creating a more inclusive and equitable society.

Celebrating the legacies of these remarkable individuals encourages students to champion social justice and strive for positive change in their communities.
