pre-k students learning about sending letters in the mail

This week Mrs. Busby's Pre-K class has been working on a Valentine's project. They found pen pals and wrote letters to the Pre-K class at Jack Elementary. They also wrote Valentine's letters to their families. This was a great experience for students to show their love and appreciation for others, work on their writing skills, as well as learn about how the U.S. mail system works.

Young students should learn about the U.S. Postal Service to grasp the importance of essential public services and communication infrastructure. Understanding its history and operations offers insights into American society and values, while also fostering civic responsibility and appreciation for public institutions. Learning about the Postal Service helps students understand the interconnectedness of communities and encourages them to become informed and engaged citizens.
