A Note from Mrs. Cureton:
Congratulations to our TOP teachers! Ms. Phillips, Mrs. Hawkins, & Mrs. Freeman have been designated as Tyler Optimal Performance (TOP) teachers through Tyler ISD and the state of Texas through the state Teacher Incentive Allotment program. This is a huge accomplishment-there are several rigorous criteria that teachers must meet to achieve this designation through the state. We are so proud of our TOP teachers and can't wait to have more teachers at Clarkston join their ranks next year!

5th Grade Parents: Hubbard Middle School is hosting a 6th grade preview night on Tuesday, February 13th, from 5:30-6:30. If you are interested in attending with your 5th grader, you can view the agenda for the event here. See the flyer below to learn more about this event!
Pizza by the Slice: Please see the flyer below for our monthly Pizza by the Slice fundraiser. Please note that all pizza money must be turned in by Wednesday, February 14th @11am. We cannot make exceptions to the due date/time due to ordering processes with our pizza vendor. Students are not allowed to have individual pizzas delivered to our front offices on these days. If you have any questions or concerns about this, please contact me.
PTA Valentine Dance: Friday, February 16th, 5:30-7:00. Please see the flyer below for time, & additional details. All students in attendance must be accompanied by an adult. Student dress at the dance must comply with Tyler ISD dress code.
2023-2024 Yearbook: Exciting news! We are starting orders for our campus yearbook! This year, the cover of our yearbook will be designed by one of our Clarkston students! If you would like to purchase a yearbook so that your student has a keepsake for the year and can collect signatures from classmates on the last week of school, you can order using the link below. Yearbooks will be delivered to students during the last 2 weeks of school (May 13-24). Online ordering ends April 8, 2024.

Transfer Applications: The transfer window is now open. If your student is currently a transfer student at Clarkston and you would like them to attend school at Clarkston for the 24-25 school year, please fill out the Tyler ISD transfer application. Students currently on transfers will be sent home this application and should return the application no later than March 1, 2024. If you have any questions about the transfer process or application window, please contact our front office.
Living Wax Museum: We are so excited for our students to showcase a historical leader, of their choosing, at our Living Wax Museum on Thursday, February 22, 2024, from 5:30pm-6:30pm. See the flyer below for more details. Contact your child's teacher if you have any additional questions. Please make plans to join us!

Arrival Procedures
ALL students should enter campus through the cafeteria doors each morning. Only students and staff are allowed to enter through the cafeteria doors. Breakfast will be served in the cafeteria, and is free to all students, from 7:00am-7:45am. Any student arriving to campus after 7:50am will need to have a parent walk them in through the front entrance doors.
Dismissal Procedures:
Parents should complete an After-School Action Plan(with classroom teacher) so that teachers and staff have a written plan for each student. Parents must call the front office or submit a written request for student dismissal changes by 2:30 p.m. each day.
Students in grades pre-k, kindergarten, and first will not be allowed to dismiss as "walkers". They must have an older sibling at Clarkston to walk home with them.
Parents may pick up their child by signing him/her out through the office (before 2:30pm). Students will be released only to persons listed for student pick-up. Anyone picking up a student shall be required to show valid identification. When possible, schedule appointments during non-school times (After school, Student Holidays…)
