Last week, Mrs. Kinney in the library media center hosted a Cocoa, Cookies, & Movie party for students reaching their A.R. goals. Students set goals with their teacher, read books, take quizzes, and earn points for passing averages.

Setting and reaching reading goals is crucial for students as it establishes a foundation for academic success and personal growth. When students set specific reading goals, whether it's a certain number of books, diverse genres, or increased reading comprehension, they are actively engaging with literature and developing essential skills.

Meeting these goals not only boosts their confidence but also instills a sense of achievement and discipline.

Additionally, the process of setting and reaching reading goals encourages a lifelong love for learning and expands their knowledge base. It cultivates critical thinking skills, enhances vocabulary, and fosters a deeper understanding of various subjects.

Beyond academic benefits, achieving reading goals empowers students to navigate a world rich in information and diverse perspectives, preparing them for future academic challenges and lifelong learning endeavors.
