🐝 Sunday Bee Fact! Honey bees collect sticky resin from plants and mix it with wax to create propolis, a protective material they spread throughout the hive. Propolis has antimicrobial properties and helps support a healthy hive environment. This connects bees to biomedical science: researchers study how natural substances interact with microbes, immune systems, and health. At Bonner, our students and staff bring their knowledge, build upon one another’s ideas, and expand what our whole hive can learn! #BonnerBeesBuildKnowledge 🐝🔬

Local beekeepers, Rick Rogers and Daniel Lennon, met with Ms. Clementi to plan out future opportunities for our Bonner bees! Exciting things coming! 🐝 💤

🐝 Sunday Bee Fact! Honey bees and bumble bees carry pollen in special smooth areas on their hind legs called pollen baskets, or corbiculae. They pack pollen together with a little nectar into colorful pellets to carry home.
