Congratulations to Steve Coleman, a pre-K student at Bonner Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month for April.

Steve Coleman is only four years old and is already a star student and role model at Bonner. He comes to school every day wanting to learn. He is proactive and maintains a win-win attitude. He is an amazing example that you are never too young to be a leader! Steve is an All-Star Bee!!

Here is what some of his teachers said about him:

Steve is always respectful and uses his manners toward his teachers, using "yes ma'am, no ma'am, please, thank you" all the time! Steve is a great role model to his classmates by showing good choices throughout the school day ... in line, on the carpet, at lunch, etc.

Steve always has a smile on his face as well as a positive attitude. He keeps the Win-Win mindset in the classroom by supporting and cheering on his friends. If they are having a rough day Steve is the first one by their side. Steve is always willing and excited to work hard at school!

Steve is an excellent student leader and peer example at Bonner. He has an amazing attitude every day and is always smiling.

Steve shows a Proactive attitude every day at school! He will always choose to make good choices and encourage his classmates to do the same thing. Steve is always willing to help his teachers and is ready to help or comfort a classmate.

The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
