The 2026-2027 school year marks the start of a strategic campus redesign aimed at rapidly improving student outcomes to match the performance of Tyler and East Texas comprehensive middle schools.
One of the biggest enhancements to our campus is the implementation of the Accelerated Campus Excellence (ACE) Model, a comprehensive approach focused on strong teaching, student support, and expanded learning opportunities.
What This Means for Your Student
Stronger Teaching in Every Classroom
Students will learn from highly effective teachers, with at least 50% of core (Reading, Math, Science, and Social Studies) teachers holding Tyler ISD TOP Teacher earned status as designated by the State of Texas.
More Time for Learning
School day: 8:30 a.m. β 4:30 p.m.
Additional school days through the ADSY (Additional Days School Year) calendar, the current start date for all Boulter students is July 27, 2026.
Purposefully designed curriculum that maximizes standards and academic work exposure time.
Targeted Academic Support
Measured instructional proficiency that maximizes quality teaching delivery and exposure time.
Additional instructional assistance for students struggling with on-level achievement.
Opportunities for advanced learners to be challenged deeper.
Prescriptive Saturday and summer learning opportunities for further support.
Existing and Expanded Student Opportunities
Athletics programs continue for eligible students.
Fine Arts electives include Band, Art, Choir, and Dance; Mariachi/Strings introduced.
Increased access and enrollments within AVID and Career/Technical courses.
Dyad classes (no cost to families), where students can explore interests like photography, music, gardening, yoga, and more.
Community Connection and Genuine Support of Academic Success and Parental Partnership in Learning Improvements
Commitment to support of and insulate the principal, designated assistant principals, and instructional staff as the leaders and deliverers of teaching and learning at Boulter.
Fidelity to campus and district administrative structures for issues unrelated to instruction, utilizing the dean(s) of students or other support staff as primary contacts and solution finders for student supports, operational concerns, and challenges.
Continued partnership with the Tyler Council of PTAs and Texas PTA.
Increased opportunities for family involvement and communication.
Our principal, Nathan Harbour, shared it best: βOur goal is simple, every student learning and improving every day. By working together, we can ensure every Boulter student reaches their full potential.β
We encourage you to review more details, resources, and updates about the ACE Model and ask questions if you don't see them posted.
Thank you for your continued support and partnership. We are excited about whatβs ahead for Boulter Middle School and for your student.
