Second-grade students at Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School enjoyed a visit from the Tyler Public Library for Spanish storytelling.
During the visit, a library representative read βGobi: A Little Dog with a Big Heartβ to students in Spanish. The read-aloud gave students an opportunity to enjoy a story while connecting their classroom learning with resources available in the community.

Youth Librarian, Amy Skipper Souza, introduced students to the variety of free programs offered at the Tyler Public Library. Families can explore these opportunities as a way to encourage reading, discover interests, and continue learning beyond the school day.
Students learned about an exciting reason to plan a library visit this month. From October 19th through Halloween, students who visit the Tyler Public Library in a costume will receive a free book. The offer gives children a chance to add a book to their collection and keep the excitement of reading going.
Birdwell appreciates the Tyler Public Library for sharing its time, stories, and resources with students. Visits like this help strengthen the connection between the school and the public library while introducing children to opportunities available to them and their families.
Families are encouraged to visit the Tyler Public Library and discover what it has to offer.
