Students from Birdwell Dual Language Immersion School recently demonstrated the power of service and leadership by volunteering at the East Texas Food Bank. Members of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) and Birdwell Student Council worked together to give back to the community through this meaningful opportunity.
During their visit, students helped support the East Texas Food Bankβs mission of fighting hunger and serving families across the region. By volunteering their time and energy, they gained firsthand experience in what it means to make a positive impact beyond the classroom. Their efforts reflected the values of compassion, responsibility, and teamwork that are encouraged at Birdwell.
This service project provided students with more than just an opportunity to help othersβit also allowed them to grow as leaders. NJHS and Student Council members represented Birdwell with pride as they worked side by side to support an important cause that touches many lives in East Texas.
Birdwell is proud of these students for stepping up to serve their community and for showing that leadership is about action, kindness, and making a difference. Experiences like this help students understand the importance of giving back and remind us all that even small acts of service can have a big impact.
The school extends its appreciation to the East Texas Food Bank for welcoming Birdwell students and providing them with the chance to learn through service. Birdwell celebrates these young leaders for their dedication and their commitment to helping others.
