Congratulations to Savannah Tippitt, 3rd grade student at Woods Elementary School, for being named the District Elementary Student of the Month.
Savannah is recognized for her remarkable courage, determination, and inspiring love of learning. Savannah exemplifies what it means to persevere, showing up each day with a positive attitude that leaves a lasting impression on everyone around her.
Despite undergoing chemotherapy for a tumor on her brain stem, Savannah never allows her challenges to define her or slow her down. Instead, she approaches school with an extraordinary mindset, often being the first to ask her homebound teacher for more work. Her eagerness to learn, take on new challenges, and grow academically speaks volumes about her character and inner strength.
Savannah continues to participate in every activity she can, always wearing a bright smile and bringing encouragement to those around her. Her kindness and optimism is uplifting to her classmates and even inspires staff members, serving as a powerful reminder that true strength is not measured by physical ability, but by heart, attitude, and determination.
Savannah sets a shining example for her peers. She truly embodies the qualities Andy Woods Elementary hopes to instill in all Wranglersβresilience, optimism, and an unshakable love of learning.
The Tyler ISD District Students of the Month each receive a certificate and medal, sponsored by CHRISTUS Trinity Mother Frances Health System.

Each month, Tyler ISD recognizes the exemplary efforts of two students, one from our elementary schools and one from our secondary schools, to be honored. Teachers and school principals submit nominations based on students' excellence in many areas, including academics, leadership, campus, and community involvement. These outstanding qualities lead to successful student outcomes both in and outside of the classroom.
