Members of Pollard United Methodist Church brought holiday cheer and big smiles to Andy Woods Elementary School by donating 10 bicycles and safety helmets to deserving students as part of their annual Christmas tradition. Each year, Pollard UMC provides one boyβs bike and one girlβs bike for every grade level, ensuring students across the campus have an opportunity to be surprised with a special gift during the holiday season.

Teachers at Andy Woods Elementary play an important role in the selection process by recommending students who consistently demonstrate strong leadership, positive character, and a commitment to doing the right thing both in and out of the classroom. From those recommendations, a random drawing is held at the campus level to determine one boy and one girl from each grade to receive a bike, making the moment both meaningful and exciting.
The presentation of the bikes created a memorable celebration for students, staff, and church members alike. Cheers erupted as each studentβs name was announced, and the recipients proudly posed with their new bicycles, many for the very first time.

This long-standing partnership between Pollard United Methodist Church and Andy Woods Elementary highlights the power of community support and generosity. Through this tradition, Pollard UMC continues to uplift students, encourage leadership, and make the holiday season brighter for Andy Woods families.
