Tuesday January 18, 2022 The Boshears Center was filled with the sounds of drums and cheers as the Tyler ISD Foundation came down our hallways. Little did we know that we were going to receive three grants for a total of $7,277.
The Busy Bee Mart $4920
The purpose of this project is to create a store, where students will apply the lessons they learn in the classroom to real-life experiences. Our students will be provided with the opportunity to practice skills related to shopping and employment.
SOARS $1500
Special Olympics Advancing Recreation & Sports focuses on expanding the Special Olympics program within Tyler ISD. This project will include new opportunities for students to participate in additional sporting events throughout the year and to be recognized for their efforts. Light Up My Learning $857
Light Up My Learning is the idea of adding softer or more appropriate lighting to our PE activities, especially for students with limited vision, high distractibility, and/or sensory integration needs. By adding lighted equipment or lighting features to the existing environment, we hope to elevate our students' learning by making their education more meaningful and accessible.
