The Greater Tyler Association of REALTORS® (GTAR) recently delivered comfort and kindness to Tyler ISD’s Boshears Center for Exceptional Programs, donating a brand-new couch to the school’s Home Skills class. The gift, presented by GTAR’s Community Services Committee, supports the school’s mission to teach students essential life and independent living skills.
The Home Skills class provides students hands-on learning in areas such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, and home maintenance. The addition of a comfortable couch helps create a home-like environment that enhances students' learning experience and mirrors real-world settings they may encounter in the future.
“The Greater Tyler Association of REALTORS® (GTAR) is a non-profit organization proudly serving East Texas,” said Bella Rubio, GTAR Government Affairs Director and Marketing Director. “Committed to professionalism, integrity, and the promotion of homeownership, we work to strengthen and support our community. Through GTAR’s Community Service Committee, we proudly collaborate with numerous local organizations and participate in a wide range of community service projects.”
Boshears Center Director Brooke Parker expressed gratitude for the donation, noting the value of partnerships that go beyond the classroom. “This donation helps us bring real-life comfort and practicality into our students’ learning environment. We are thankful for GTAR’s generosity and investment in our students' success.”
As a community-minded organization, GTAR understands the importance of outreach. “As REALTORS®, we believe in uplifting one another to help build a stronger, more connected community,” Rubio added. “Our goal is not only to be present in our community but to create meaningful, lasting impact through our involvement. Our mission is to be a trusted advocate for property rights while promoting the highest standards of ethics and professionalism within the real estate industry.”
Thanks to GTAR’s continued dedication, students at Boshears are learning and growing in a space that feels even more like home.
