UnGala 2022

The Tyler ISD Foundation welcomed more than 250 guests to the Foundation’s inaugural “UnGala: Havana Nights” on November 19. The Hollytree Country Club was transformed into a tropical night in Havana with guests arriving in Old Cuba and Miami-inspired attire, eager to support educational grants and scholarships for Tyler ISD students and educators.

The “UnGala” celebrated the 32 years of impact and partnership of Tyler ISD and the Tyler ISD Foundation and honored Bonnie and Tab Beall, for their many years of commitment to both the Foundation and Tyler ISD. The couple was presented with the 2022 Tab & Bonnie Beall Impact Award. The 2022 Tyler ISD Distinguished Alumni, Steve Fitzpatrick, and Jennifer Gaston were also recognized with a standing ovation during the festivities.

The UnGala raised more than $52,000 for Tyler ISD educators, students, and families.

Tyler ISD Foundation Board President, Rick Allen said, “The generosity of our community allows the Foundation to continue to fund programs that enhance the education of our students, enable teachers as they pursue innovative programs, and support our commitment to Tyler ISD and successful student outcomes. We are grateful for each and every person who made this event a success!”

UnGala attendees enjoyed a live Samba performance, vied with friends over exceptional auction items, played a fun game of Heads or Tails for a trip to Hawaii, and danced to the tunes of the Faber & Friends Band. The pre-Thanksgiving soiree kicked off the holiday season in style, thanks in large part to community sponsorships, underwriters, and supporters.
