2020-07-13 Tyler ISD Introduces Additional Head Start Service Provider

Tyler ISD welcomes Greater East Texas Community Action Program (GETCAP) as an additional Head Start service provider to the Smith County area. GETCAP is a private non-profit corporation established in 1965 to offer a variety of programs and services to assist low-income individuals and families.

“Tyler ISD has long since recognized the need for services to our Smith County 0-3 year-old children, so we welcome them to the community and offer them our best wishes for success as services continue to broaden in our area,” Superintendent Dr. Marty Crawford said.

The GETCAP program is designed to serve and assist the total development of the child focusing on health, nutrition, education, and parent involvement services to enable children to function at an optimal level in his or her environment.
