2019-05-28 Tyler ISD to Hold Safety Conference for District Professional & Paraprofessional Staff

As part of its new #safeTisd initiative, Tyler ISD is hosting its first Safety and Security Conference for all campus professional and paraprofessional staff Tuesday, May 28. The conference aims to improve safety and security within Tyler ISD and promotes emergency preparedness among students and staff.
Partnering with the Safe and Sound Schools organization, attendees will learn a variety of safety and security measures from the following guest speakers:
Michele Gay – mother, former teacher, and one of the founders of Safe and Sound Schools;
Jin Kim – founder and principal of The PerSec Academy, specializing in Active Shooter and Workplace Violence Resiliency Management;
Paul Timm – vice president of Facility Engineering Associates and board-certified Physical Security Professional (PSP);
Stephen Brock – professor and school psychology program coordinator at California State University, Sacramento;
Erin West – assistant professor of counseling for The University of Texas at Tyler;
Tyler ISD Police Officers
