Congratulations Leslie Anaya, Moore 7th grader for winning 1st in the MLK Competition with your piece, "Brotherhood Around the World". We also want to congratulate Emily Betancourt or your work titled "Maintain the Dream" that won 3rd place in the MLK Competition. Our theme to address was "Brotherhood". Moore entered 12 entries in the contest. Each student was required to submit an essay with their art work. The essay was to focus on how we continue to make Martin Luther King Jr.'s dream a continued reality today.
To date Moore has entered 22 entries in the various art competitions. Our students competed not only in the MLK Competition but also competed and won awards in the ETSF Academic Rodeo Contest and the PTA Reflections Contest and the State Fair. Joseph Williams won the 2nd place visual arts award in the Academic Rodeo Contest. We are very proud of our students. The motto in the Moore Visual Arts Department this year has been, "There is always more achieved at Moore!"
