The Tyler ISD Library Media Program provides instruction, resources, and services to assist our learning community in becoming effective users of ideas and information.
School Media Technology Specialists:
- Provide instruction to stimulate interest and foster competence in reading, viewing, and using information and ideas.
- Empower students and staff with skills to live, learn, and work in a digital society, and make safe, smart, and ethical online decisions.
- Provide leadership and instruction that support the district's curriculum and is central to the learning process.
- Provide innovative professional learning opportunities that foster communication, collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity.
Texas students will attain knowlesge and skills to become accomplished readers, independent learners, critical thinkers, creative problem solvers, and informed citizens through the expertise of school media technology specialists and the use of resources and services provided by school library programs.
