Mrs. Tapper

I am so excited to be back at Ramey this year!

This will be my fifth year to teach Kindergarten. Respectively, I have taught third grade for three years and ESL 3-8 for two years.

I received my Bachelor's in Education from Minnesota State University, Mankato. I also severd in the United States Airforce.

I have high expectations for my students and parents. I plan to use creative ideas to broaden your child’s mind, as well as, promote self-esteem, self-discipline, and character.

Our school theme is "Work for the Win!"

Kindergarten is a very important grade in your child’s education. It sets the foundation for the rest of their school career; therefore it is VERY important that your child is at school everyday and on time. The tardy bell rings at 7:50 a.m. If they are late or absent, they are missing important instruction time.

I use S.M.A.R.T. activities in our classroom on a daily basis. We will have S.M.A.R.T centers and transitions. It is a developmental approach to teaching. It focuses on stimulation of the brain stem verses the brain cortex, the area where most curricula is focused. If you would like to read more about it please click on the following link, S.M.A..R.T Program.

Discipline at school and in the classroom is an integral part of the teaching / learning process. I will teach your child, along with your support, how to use appropriate behavior during instruction along with acquiring the desired behavior that will be modeled daily. I will help your child become more accountable for his/her own behavior choices.

You can support your child by coming to Parent Conferences, Parent Meetings, Parent Nights, and field trips. This will show your child you are interested in what he/she is doing in school. Please sign up to be a volunteer.

It is important that your child is here every day on time at 7:50 am; but not any earlier than 7:00 am (Breakfast is served from 7:00 to 7:30 am) and be promptly picked up at 3:00 pm because there will be no one to watch your child. Your child’s safety is of the upmost importance at Ramey.

If you have any questions please give me a call or just email me.

Thanks for being a supportive and caring Ramey parent.
