What To Expect From English III and Creative & Practical Writing:
Hello and welcome to 11th grade English III and/or Creative & Practical Writing!
It is my philosophy that learning ought to be engaging, fun, and challenging, regardless of age or content. With this philosophy in mind, students in my room rarely work in isolation and are often seen colloborating with their peers and sharing their ideas. My lessons are visual, hands on, active, and creative, while maintaing high academic standards and expectations.
In English III specifically, we will be exploring themes and writers across American Liturature and utilizing literary analysis to share our discoveries through writing and class presentations, while in Creative & Practical Writing we will be mastering our craft, skill, and analytical thinking skills as writers through the writing process across all genres, for both real world application and self expression.
My previous years of experience have been in teaching all level high school Theater, Rhetoric, Speech & Debate, and English III for two years in Longview, Tx, and 7th grade RLA for 3 years in Tyler ISD.
I hold a double major in English and Theater with concentrations in performance and writing from East Texas Baptist University and my ELAR 7-12 certification was obtained through A+ Texas Teachers.
