Ms. Amy Clemens

This is my 15th year here at Robert E. Lee High School. I am currently the REL Theatre Department Head, REL Fine Arts CILT Lead, and a member of the Tyler ISD Visual/Performing Arts Leadership Team as the Division Lead for Theatre. I will be teaching Theatre II, Musical Theatre I/II/III/IV, and Theatre III/IV for the 2019-2020 school year. I also Direct a number of our Theatre Department productions, as well as Assistant Direct or Co-Direct other Theatre Department productions throughout the year. We have a very active Theatre program with 4-6 productions a year including a musical, plays, UIL One Act Play, Musical Theatre showcases, as well as a number of Community performances throughout the year. I also coordinate Stage Management, Sound Design, and Properties Design/Construction for all of our Theatre productions.

I recieved my Associate's degree from Kilgore College in 1984; my Bachelor's degree in Speech Communication from the University of Texas @ Tyler in 1995; and my Master's degree in Theatre (Emphasis in Management) from Louisiana Tech University in 1998. I served in the United States Navy from July of 1988 until June of 1992. I was also employed by The Juilliard School, in New York City, as a Stage Management intern in their Professional Internship Program from 1999-2000. I have 20+ years of experience working in professional, educational, and community theatre.
