NaTasha Crain, Principal
Dear Jones Families,
Welcome to the 2018-2019 school year! I hope you enjoyed a summer vacation filled with fun and exciting memories with your loved ones. We are thrilled to welcome all of you back to a new school year of learning and growing.
Personally, I am grateful and elated to continue this journey with you as your Principal. Over the past year, I have had the chance to meet many of you and your children, and look forward to continuing to build a strong relationship with all of you in the upcoming year. As we enter this new school year, I want to let you know that our staff will be engaging in conversations around having a growth mindset, both for ourselves and for all of our students. WE BELIEVE that every person in this building should always be growing and learning. Despite obstacles that may arise, we must always BELIEVE in our ability to rise above challenges and come out stronger because of the hard work we put in place to achieve our goals.
We are looking forward to a productive partnership with you to ensure our children can achieve their highest potential. We recognize that in order to be successful in school, our children need support from both the home and school. We know a strong partnership with you will make a great difference in your child’s education. As partners, we share the responsibility for our children’s success and want you to know that we will do our very best to carry out our responsibilities. We ask that you guide and support your child’s learning by ensuring that he/she:
1) Attends school daily and arrives on time, ready for the day’s learning experience
2) Completes all homework assignments given by teachers
3) Reads daily to develop a love for reading and to improve literacy skills
4) Shares school experiences so that you are aware of his/her school life
5) Informs you if he/she needs additional support in any area or subject
6) Knows that you expect him/her to succeed in school and go on to higher education
I want to personally invite you to join our Parent Teacher Association (PTA) this year and/or volunteer as our students can greatly benefit from your involvement and contributions to the school’s program and its operations. It is very important that you and your child are fully informed regarding standards related to appropriate behavior for a safe and productive school year. Please feel free to review the Jones Student/Parent Handbook, which can be accessed on our webpage. Please save the date for the following campus events:
Meet the Teacher: August 16th from 5-6:30 pm
First Day of School: August 20th
PTA Meeting and Open House: September 27th from 5-6:30 pm
Our goal this year is to see 90% of our families at each of campus events; we hope that you will join us!!!
The wonderful Jones staff and I feel privileged to be a part of this school family. We thank you for your
support and look forward to meeting you.
